I have noticed lately that nobody is producing a 40 or 60 size P-40 Warhawk ARF,whats up with this?
If anybody knows of a good one at a reasonable price please let me know.
I remember that Kyosho once made one,Sportsman Aviation(Global) made one,Modeltech, but i see that they are no longer doing so.

Aaaaah ... you want a totally scale one. I agree that the WM P47 is not very scale like at all, the tail wrist is too fat also.

Ok , VQ has the new one with out the gear and the wing washout has been fixed .
I keep eyeing this plane because the Green and Tan china version looks great . You will have to paint a better tiger mouth or order the Top Flight Teeth from there P40 accessories . I think they are concerned about there customers but I woory about the post I have seen on there other planes . However like I said this is the second addition with modeler feedback worked into the model . If you email them with you question they eamil you back , they are great !
MIke from Skysharks will have a lazor cut P40 kit in various modles sometime in November . Remember it will be a kit but his kits ar so nice that the build should be easy .
You can still get the Kyosho P40 from various Distributors in Canada .I seen it on differant webs .
I have the Global P40 totally stripped and have been bashing it for a couple of months . The frame was nice but the covering , P51 gear and tail outline had to go .

tIANCI , here is what I know about VQ . I started investagating there planes with the intro of the first P40 . On appearance they looked great , tons of detail and accuracy for stand off ARF scale . MOst planes have flaps, rivit and panle line detail . Ok further investatgation of the first release P40 led me to Morris Hobbies a US distributor of VQ . There site had two updates to the P40 , the cowl was apparently distorted in the first release and the gear was useless.
Lastly modlers on this line reported difficult covering material that was hard to keep from wrinkeling and the planes were some what heavey . RCM magazine (the only one worth reading ) did an excellant review on the P40 and said the gear was bad but functional , the big problem was the wings had the wrong wash out built into the plane . This would force an unexpected roll on take off and a potential crash . The final update was that the plane was re-released this past week , new washout , no gear so the new ones are up for review . Persoanlly I may but one , I can add my own gear , the washout and cowl issues are fixed and the plane has flaps, and a ton of detail . As stated before the only thing I would change is the shark mouth . I woudl like to know the wing loading , the original were also on the heavey side. IN all fairness to this supplier there are not many post on rotating gear that donot have some problems . My only hesiation is that I have a Global p40 that I am bashing to scale and waiting for the Skyshark 60 size kit for fall release

Looks like VQ is not ready to get their products that good yet. As for RCM reviews, its all nonsense ... all American mags on RC is nonsense. Be it car or planes, they NEVER knock a product. I used to play cars a lot and we know what car is crap, the reviews are always GOOD. I will never trust an American Mag's RC reviews. Never ... the Brits are better. American mags are better reading ... they always please their sponsors, those advertising.

I agree. If there is some short comming, it is usually buried in a bunch of B.S. like "we didn't get to experience the full potential this plane had at 3d due to excessive winds" C'mon, if you do a review, do it on a nice day. Geez.

Guys I coudl not agree more but RCM seems to be the only one that will post any negative at all . On the HP Giant P51 they actuall say the gear is useless. If you read model airplane news they dont methion it all , same with the H9 corsair , Model airplane news dose not say one bad thing about the plane . The plane is great but need some work to be airworthy !!!
On the VQ , I am not writing them off yet , i will keep you posted if I buy one , it just looks good . Hoever I may just wait for the Skyshark kit in the fall , with there lasor cutting its like having a ARF .

I have the VQ P-40 and it's great! This is the original bird as well. The washout is not a problem. The grear works and fuctions fine. If you bounce it they will get messed up, but other than that it seems to fly and land great.
I'm not saying it was a breeze to get right, but I took my time and got all the adjustments right, it flew and performed great!
