UCANDO 46 Crash

Well, my UCANDO 46 bit the dust today! Less than 10 flights and the wing folded at less than half throttle. No sign of flutter just bang! Wasn't overpowered either with a YS 63 and 13x4W prop. Left wing broke at the fuselage. In fact, some of the other pilots said the wing almost looked like it exploded.
Hopefully, my YS is salvagable! Another pilot at the field lost his horizontal stab, but I didn't know the wings had any potential problems.

I do full speed blenders with mine!!! Satio 100. It's krazy!!
Of course this is my second one... the first... the wing blew apart on the maden... only did one roll, then bamm! It broke at the servo well.
I sent it back and they sent me a new one... Fast! I've had this one ever since and love it... but... it's getting worn out now(200+ flights)
Looking to get the Seagull Harrier 3D to replace it before I crash it!!

I wanted post a followup and say GP replaced my UCANDO. It does hel pease the sting of repairing my crash-damaged YS 63. Thanks to all those who posted. I really believe it was a defective wing and not a problem with all UCANDO 46s.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Never fun! I had a similar experience on a Giles two years ago. G.P replaced as well. I have the 60 UCD with a 91 and really like. I glassed the center section of the wing just to add additional support. Not sure this would have helped but something to consider doing. It's certainly not hard to do.

Good suggestion. I usualy do that myself. In this case though, the wing broke at the enge of the fuse rather than in the middle as you would expect.

Has anyone bought the 46 lately and flown it? I was wondering if GP had fixed the wing problem and other structual problems on it. I have bought one and am now building it. Should I glass the center of the wing? Any other suggestions of improvements I should do to it would be appreciated.

Although my wing broke, the most common problem seemed to the horizontal stab coming off. I used tail wires on my first one and have zero issues with the that. Normally I always fibreglass the center section, but my wing failed at the edge of the fuse so I would had to fibreglassed a third of the wing. I would defintely put on some type of tail wires on and fiberglass the center if it makes you feel good, but basically just fly it and enjoy it. Many pilot have installed big engines and flew them hard with no issues. 3D planes are built light for a reason and sometimes we pay the price.
