Default YS 110 in a GP Super Stearman

What are your opinions on this combo? The Super Stearman is not out yet, I have to wait untill July before it ships. That what I was told. I have read much about the YS 110 and I am confident it will perform well. This plane is not for 3D but I should put on a good show.

Uh... if its the Great Planes Stearman, I have one, perhaps they are on back order. As far as the 110 goes, I think it would be a great combo.

What is the wingspan and weight of the Super Stearman? If it has less than a 75" wingspan and weighs less than 14 lbs, then the YS 110 would be a terrific engine for it.

The GP is on back order. I had the same problem waiting for a Experimental Aircraft, but I canceled that order once I found the Stearman. Although Cleve Lee was great with the service and all that, but unless he firebombs the chineese into submission, he will not have the planes as scheduled. I would assume that Great Planes is having the same problem. I'm still going for a Challenger2 in the fall.

The GP Stearman is 14-15Lbs and the top wingspan is 71in.

What are you fella's using for power in your GP Stearman? I would have put a G26 in the GP, but I already have a YS110 and one of the clubs I fly with has displacment issues. I could fly a 12ft Telemaster SFK as long as it had an engine 120 or smaller. So now I am happy this will work out.

Thanks for your reply.

The 110 should be fine. The review I have seen used another brand's 120 and the performance was fine, so the YS should be the same. It's not a rocket, it's a Stearman and will fly like it, the 110 should pull it with reasonable authority. You probably will need to add significant noseweight, which Great Planes warns you of with engines in the 120 size range.
