I'd like to here from someone who has a Wild Hare Edge. What is the flying weight? What engine are you using in it so I can take that into account. Rumors have it at 17.5 to 18 Lbs with a engine like DA50 or Brison 3.2 is this the case?

This is without wheel pants, pilot or panel. 16 lbs. 2 oz. Very accurate scale DA-50
Stock muffler -- (5.2 oz) pitts style ?? maybe 12 0z
4-5945 servos
2-225bb servos
1 8611 servo -- (2.86 oz lighter than 5735)
1- 2700mah nimh (5 cell)
1 1650 nimh (4 cell)
carbon tail wheel,(very little weight saving)
carbon wing tube, ( saves a few ounces) stock tube = 11oz, lighter tube=7.8 oz, carbon tube=4.2 oz.
Dave Brown spinner
Zinger pro 22x8 (pretty light prop, only one available at the time)
Since this weight, I have added the wheel pants and painted the canopy plus a few decals. I don't have a new weight yet but the wheel pants and bolts weigh 4 oz.
It is a rocket ship. Could easily handle quite a bit more weight.
The wild Hare edge has 1390 sq in wing surface.

There seems to be a wide variation in weight. Geistware what engine do you have in yours? The engine weight could be the answer if tail weight is needed for an engine like a G62. If the airplane needs nose weight with a DA50 the large variation does not make sense. Maybe it balances with a DA50 with no added weight over the normal radio equipment being moved. Jemo's seems to be a "normal" setup. I would hope the kits don't vary that much.

I used a Brison 3.2 with a BCM side mount muffler.

Mine is 16 3/4 lbs with an A&M (Sachs, similar to Brison) 3.2. Nothing fancy other than Duralite batteries, but I have the pants on and a tank of a pilot from another plane I had. Super light flyer!

I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE WEIGHT OF MY EDGE, 18#3OZ. THIS IS WITH A DA 50, AND THE LIGHTER WING TUBE AND LANDING GEAR. ALSO WHEN I WAS TAKING IT APART TODAY I NOTICED THAT THE FUSE SIDE AND DOUBLER HAD SEPARATED FROM THE FIREWALL TO THE 1/4 SQ BALSA BEHIND THE WING TUBE! ALSO THE INCIDENCE OF WING AND STAB WERE OFF AS WELL STAB NOT BEING LEVEL TO WING.

I see listings of this planes weight from 16 or less to 18+ lbs. There must be something in the manufacturing process or wood used that makes them very so much. That is why I ordered a BME hoping it is built more consistent. The BME should be about 1.5 lbs lighter. BTW do you have a smoke system on yours?
