Default Avistar Control Rods

Just a quick question, I am new to ARFs. Do the control rods for the rudder and elevator need to have any bends in them? Or are they just straight? I have a Extra Easy 2 and the rudder control rod bends to fit the fuselage. Thanks for your support.

On my avistar the rods were straight. You have the metal pushrods inside sheaths, right?

Yep the steel rods with the plastic sheaths. They are straight. Cool thanks for the info. Just should look at my instructions instead of looking at a totally different airframe huh. Appreciate it thanks.

Transam, I usually have to put a SMALL bend just past where the pushrod exits the fuse to get every thing to line up and work smooth.

Ok great I was kind of thinking about doing that. I would think after awhile the control rod if staight would chafe through the plastic. Thanks Ed.

I had to put a little bend in both the ends that came into the servo tray area and on the external end as well. I ended up with a little binding on the rods. My making the small bends I fixed the problem. You want them to operate smoothly to keep the servo from having to work harder than necessary.
