I have a Kyosho GeeBee with a OS SX50 in it. After some playing around with the balance point, the plane flys wonderful. The only problem I have is getting it back on the ground. Almost everytime I land it flips over. I think part of the problem is the gear flexing. And im sure im part of the equation also. Has anyone experienced this at all? Any suggestions?

I fly off of a hard surface. Mine wont flip but I'm sure it would on grass. Mine also flys great, but lands like
a turd. To slow and it turns right, to fast and the gear flexes and cracks the wheel pants. I don't think
there is a good solution short of bending a better gear wire. If you try to go to a bigger gear wire
the wheel pants wont mount. I am going to try more rudder throw and slow down the landing speed but I havn't tried it yet. later daveo

At one time Robart made special gear legs for Ryan ST's that seemed to have the same problem you have with the GB. I don't know if they have an equivalent set up for your plane but it couldn't hurt to ask. That has to be a very interesting airplane in the air. I'm so old I remember when Chester Allen crunched one at Burbank. All that was left was part of the cockpit canopy and the top half of the vertical stabilizer. You should do much better with a model.

I think its bruce thorpe, but im sure im wrong, makes a gee bee model Z kit, which i have. the two planes are identical in size. (wonder where kyosho got there mold from hmmmm), they use a and extra wire going from the main gear back to the wing for reinforcemnt. This plane is about 60% finished so I dont know if this helps or not. I was going to do this on the kyosho, but still havnt figured out a good way, would be so much easier if the wheel pants didnt fit in to the wire landing gear like they do. Guess I just need to do some more thinking.
