Hello fellows. I was just wondering if anyone has ever noticed this on there Stick. The wind cought the wing the other day and slamed the tip into a poll. The end of the wing broke. I peeled back the covering and was kindive supprised at what I saw. The wing spars were made out of soft balsa. You could twist then all around. A little closer look and 90% of the wing was made with soft balsa. The ribs that was hard wood were the two inboard ribs were the wings join together. I am almost affraid to fly the darn thing. Any comments will be greatly appreciated. Keep them flying.

The spars in my Monokoat Big Stik 40 are hardwood. I received it about a month ago. It must be about Stik number seven for me. My first few were the Jenson kits back in the 70s and 80s. It’s a great design that you never get tired of no mater how long you have flown RC and how good you are at flying. But on the other hand any and all ARFs need a lot of checking out before you assemble them or you will be very sorry. The Big Stik 40 is closer in sized to the original Jenson kit than the Big Stik 60.

I had always thought that the spars should be hard wood also. It is a Great Planes arf my first to purchase. I have always bought kits in the past and the spars were always hard wood. I guess there is only one way to find out and that is fly the heck out of it. have a good one and thanks for the reply.
