Pablo ... want me to send you a WM ARF? Shall I be your supplier? Hahahaaa ... its decently cheap here. You are most correct, WM make great planes. Love their hardware etc. No complains at all. Their Super Sports, T34, Mustang (40 sized) and many more all fly so well.
Still b*tching about the P26 huh ... hehehe ... just get some nitro and pour it all over the box and throw in a lit match!

This is the new Extra 300 from CMPro. Mine is still in its box - other current projects - but it is a nice looking plane. Will be a winter project. It was reviewed by the Fly RC magazine. They liked it.

Seen the plane fly, its nice and the covering is very decent, looks pretty good for an ARF of that price. I would love to see the plane like 2-3 lbs lighter. Still the landing is smooth and not too hot at all. Take offs are pretty decent too. Now to get my hands on one and test fly it!!!

There seems to be some confusion regarding GSP, CMP, ESM and KMP. GSP and ESM seems to have nothing to do with each other. The ESM line is sold in North America by Kondor Model Products ( www.kmp.ca ). The line from CMP (China Model Products ) is sold by Giant Scale Planes, but is also available elsewhere such as Jet Hobbies, Chief Aircraft, and Racing Devil Models. Although they (CMP and ESM ) offer similar aircraft, they are most likely not the same manufacturers. In my experience (with the latest) models from both CMP and ESM are fine planes as a whole. There are still some minor issues (eg some hardware etc) but their products have improved a great deal, and so did their customer service. Their latest planes fly well. They are still not WM quality, but for what you pay you get a lot of goodies for your dollar. The gap between them and the top guys (WM, Kyosho, H9 ) keeps shrinking with every new product they produce.

JRF ... you hit the nail right on the head!!! I believe that you cannot trust American mags, they have NEVER written a bad review. I used to be into gas powered cars, the same sister magazine would give a good review for a car we all know is an under performer!

The magazines are partially funded by ads for the very manufacturers that they review products of. They therefore count their words when they point out shortcomings. Model Airplane News and RCM does the same. So , how much are their opinions worth then, if they are so biased ? That said, we all still buy them, don't we ! ? Their reviewers also do not seem do have access to an iron or heatgun, judging by the pictures of wrinkled covering on the planes that they review. And it looks like they are not ashamed to actually turn up at the field with the planes looking like that. IMHO - these RCU forums provide one of the best sources of info. As for CMPro/ESM etc -> the point I want to make is that these companies are getting better all the time. My first H9 ARF was not nearly as good as the stuff they (H9) are producing now. The same is true for the industry underdogs as well. As the industry leaders improve their products, the industry standards go up and up all the time. What was exceptional a few years ago is seen as the minimum requirement now. The budget level ARFs now offer you what the top notch ones did a few years ago. The ARFs of today offer you a lot better product often for less money than what you would have paid a few years ago. I know a few hardline kit buiders who would not have touched an ARF a few years ago, who now builds mostly ARFs. We as RC builders and flyers are the ones that benefit from these continued improvements. Just like the RC industry needs the leading companies like WM, we also need the budget ones like CMP, Seagull etc to keep up the pricing pressure on the leading companies and keep the hobby affordable for the bulk of RCers out there. You vote with your wallet.

I buy the mags just to see the pictures of planes, I get a kick! Hahahaa ... My experience with H9 was great, bought an Aresti and noted the workmanship was really nice for an average ARF. WM sets a standard, all their planes are nicely manufactured and they all fly well. Of course your cheaper Vietnam brands have also improved, they are getting better in due time.

The CMP website is down, been down for weeks now. I have seen the Cessa 182 and its a nice plane. Workmanship is good and flies nicely on a 70 4C, saw one with a Saito 82 and its was absurd, the guy flew it on like 35% throttle only.

I had the CMP Chipmunk and put a Saito 56 in it. It flew excellent and tracked wonderfully. I got really stupid one day and tried to hover it. It did,.......then it didn't! The plane was real strong and just cracked the fuse in front of the wing. It would have been an easy fix, but I gave it to a buddy that really wanted it. Minus my Saito of course!!! I liked it well enough that I would buy another! The build quality on the one I had was very good and the hardware is the exact same stuff that World Models uses.

If I may interject an experience here. CMP sucks. If you purchase one of their models be aware that is all you are going to get. I have emailed them 4-6 times and no reply. I even had one of their dealers say "good luck" "they never return my emails either". This is pathetic. I wish I had never bought one of their models. Yes they look nice but thats as far as it goes. Save yourself headaches,,,don't purchase CMP products.

Can we say Necropost! The thread was 9 years old and you posted in it after no one had said a thing for 3 years. Good one...and only three posts for you at the time you did that. Everyone knows CMP planes arent high quality. Welcome to the 21st century.
