Default Looking for an A10

Hi guys and gals,
My son is a plane captain for an A10, and I really want to build one. (Got pictures and everything!).

I normally fly the larger airplanes that are between 52" and 74" wingspan. I am most comfortable with this size of aircraft and have a lot of experience with such.

So, I'd like to know if anyone out there in R/C land has any idea where I may locate a model of this size, as close to scale as possible, ducted fan preferred. Now, I think I remember one a while back, but can't for the life of me remember where I saw it. The person had placed a couple of engines in the nacelles and props. I'm going to somehow make it ducted fan.

Aside from the power plant, a fueled engine aircraft is preferred. So, back to the original question: Anyone know where I may locate one of these?

Thank you, and have a nice day,
RickyDee

Several around just depends on how scale you want:

MAN issue July 2001 issue has Keith Spars design www.airage.com
RCM May 93 issue had a pusher design
Dean Lassek has a Josh Harol design VERY large bird 12' span or close to it
The old George Miller design plans here www.scalercmodels.com
The old Sunset Models version < The one in my picture >

A few other plan set are out there as well including one that is based out of Fla........SAID to be released next year sometime......only time will tell.

My company RT Models has a small one for glow or e-power.

Your best bet is search on RCU since this place is merging with them anyway. Lots of info there as well.

If you are willing to settle for EDF(electric ducted fan) GWS has a new A10 out. I believe it is probably available from Horizon Hobbies. EDF's seem to be the coming thing. Haven't tried one yet but all the reports and reviews are favorable. Because we fly from a dirt strip it may not be practical. I would think all jet types would need pavement at least for takeoff. Congrats on having a A10 pilot in the family. Imagine allowable buzz jobs. My Grandson is a Marine just back from Iraq.
