Has anyone who has a Rascal 110 had any wing strut problems? My 110 shed a wing after about 50 flights because the wing strut hold down bolt to the wing failed, snapped the head off the bolt clean, allowing it to fold over and tear off! Double check yours and replace them with hardened steel or do some surgery and install larger bolts. Yes, I will get another! It's a great flying plane! and no, it was not over powered - Enya 155 4s!

WOW, thanks for the heads up.[X(] I have one with a G-26 close to 50 or more flights. I have noticed the powder coating on the struts have split and broken at the bolt location, but one has to understand, I put mine through hell. Large snaps, knife edges, delta knifes, hovers, point turnes, some say I am trying to rip the wings off of it.
again, thanks for the warning.

In an Email exchange with Scott Christensen it has been concluded that the bolt failure was an unusual and isolated incident and in no way reflects against the design or construction of the 110. Even so, Sig was kind enough to offer me a sizeable discount on a new factory fresh one.
It is a great aircraft and I look forward to getting one back in the air! ( with some minor bolt mods, of course!)
