Default Tower Uproar Arf?

I'm looking at a 3rd plane. I want something with some kick to it. On tower, they have an the Uproar, with $15 off, which makes it about $80 with shipping. Anyone have one of these? Also, does anyone have a guess on how long the $15 ad will last?

The kit version is a blast with an OS .32SX for power. Insane roll rates. Will not knife edge, not enough rudder.

You may also consider the Hangar 9 Twist. It is very light and has a very wide speed envelope. It will burn holes in the sky with a blazing roll rate and yet the thick wing will allow it to slow down to a crawl. There are quite a few threads on this plane and it has developed a great following in the short time that it has been out.

I agree with FlyerBry. I built the 40 size uproar and it rocks BUT the twist can do everything the uproar can and a good bit more.

I think i'm going to stick with the Uproar (For now). I still havent even maidened my 2nd plane (4*40). So once i'm able to handle that, i'll take up the Uproar. I know this is looking far into the future, but i see myself getting an Extra 300 or something like that as a 4th plane, which could do anything i want it to do. I'm also on a pretty tight budget. With the sales at Tower, i can get the Uproar for about $80 shipped, which is a steal. I still need to buy a new radio (i'm thinking a 6-channel Futaba computer). Again, right now, my budget is reaaallllly tight, so i'll have to wait to get the quality stuff unfortunatly.

At least i'll be able to give you guys some info on quality and etc.

Dude ... DON'T touch the Futaba 6EXA unless you are not bothered to use flaps ... the radio sucks. How can you use a rotary knob for flaps and then have some form of mechanical stop to adjust how much flaps u want. I regretted buying the radio as I want to use flaps on my WM Super Chipmunk.

If that radio is like my 6XA, the flaps (if using as flaperons) are better designated to the airbrake switch. That way a flick of the switch droops the flaps and also will trim the elevator up or down a bit as needed....

Well looks like the Uproar has been delayed again until late august [:'(] I think i'll wait it out, and if i come into a bit of spare change, i have been hearing alot of nice things about the Twist. And what's the deal with this Futaba radio? I'm not sure i care if i have flaps or not, i think i'm going to stick with 40 size planes that dont really utilize them. If this radio is bad though, what is your suggestion for a Futaba/Hitec radio? Basically i just shouldnt use my crappy Focus 4 on 2 planes! Model memory would be nice, but for 189.99, the Futaba is the best choice for me. Any ideas?

Fubar-One,

I have had three Uproars in the past with the last one having a K&B Screamin' 48 and a Tornado 10 x 6 three blade prop. It would knife edge all day long. Maybe yours needs more power and increased rudder throw...

BTW. I never crashed my Uproars...friends bought them!
