Hi all just want to know your opions on putting a OS50sx in my cap 232. I had a OS46fx in it at first but it was under powered especially in the vertical department. I was going to put a 91fx in it to do 3d but I don't have the cash to do so. I would be happy with a plane that has a good strong vertical and can perform good pattern flying and some of the slower 3d manuevoures like elevators and harriers. Will the 50sx do the job for me?

Russell,
The 12.25x3.75 is the ultimate 3-D prop.
Your plane will not do "classical" aerobatics very well with this prop.
When flying in level flight, it will look like it is 'running full throttle in first gear'.
In other words, the RPM will be disproportionate to the speed.
The Bolly 11.5x6, from Adelaide, will give you good speed AND excellent vertical performance.
A 10x8, as was suggested, is the correct load and will give you still higher speed, but vertical performance will be badly hurt.

I flew my cap with a 46fx with an APC 11x6 and it was perfect for all aerobatics except strict 3D. The Cap is not a very light plane so hovering and unlimited vertical were never on my want list. But it is a great aerobatic plane.
