I am looking for input from anyone that mounted their engine inverted in the Vector Flight's Extra 300S. I'll be putting a Saito 100 in it. I went through all the VF posts at one time or another and only can remember 1 picture of an inverted Saito 100 installation, and now I can't find it.
I figured by mounting inverted it would eliminate any lateral balancing. I would think that an inverted installation would get more of the cylinder exposed to oncoming air.
How much cowl needs to be removed?
Would the Slimline Pits style muffler for inverted Saito 100 fit under the cowl?
Are there any advantages/disadvantages to inverted or side mounting a Saito 100 on this particular plane?
Thanks in advance,
Greg

I Have the 58" Extra, with a Magnum 91, and the Edge 540 with a Magnum 1.20 Both have the engines mounted sideways, and I did no lateral balancing, and they both fly GREAT! I love my Vector Flight planes!
