Default Bug season

Man I hate it when this happens. We have a grasshopper invasion at our field at this time. Not the best time of the year for a high speed low level pass.

eww... man oil and guts... you know, all the little black beetle things that are attracted to the oil all over my plane aren't nearly as annoying as the biting bugs that attack my legs while I'm flying... I've almost had 3 crashes this summer because the bugs were attacking my legs and I couldn't concentrate!

This morning I was swarmed by biting horse flies. The giant black and white ones. They can bite the crap out of you. I kind of danced around and kept flying. I didn't get bit and the crap stayed in place.

Bugs? Little black beetle things? Horse flies? Oh yeah! I remember those from when I used to live in Illinois...

BTW, I learned in Illinois that if you eat fresh broccoli, mosquitos will not bother you. Try it!

I can totally agree with everyone here. Sometimes i find more splattered bugs on my leading edge then do do on the front windshield of my car.
Thats why i always pack the "off" in my field box along with my sun block. Two of the most important items.
