GP Wagstaff - What Engine?
I am trying to deside what engine to use with the GP Patty Wag. I would like to use a gas engine. Something reliable and affordable. This will be my first gasser. Any suggestions?

Hah! wait till you price out digital servos! A BME 50 will set you back about 500, not including muffler and tru turn spinner. You can console yourself that the motor will presumably last for years, and that the gasoline it runs on is cheaper that glow fuel. The motor and radio gear cost way more that the model itself.

The answer is quit simple: No. Unless you want to spend another 500 bucks later because you want a lighter and better engine.

FPE 5.8, you did mean a 3.2 correct? The 5.8 would put power in Patty but it would be a bit large, you might want to run a 26-10 prop also

Saw this one with a stock Fuji 50cc at a recent fun fly. Pilot flew aerobatics with it very well but didn't do any 3D. Not all of us care for 3D, anyhow.
Mine will have a Fuji 50cc with CH Synchrospark. Direct mount onto the firewall gives exactly 7" as called for in the manual - no standoffs or spacers necessary. Great for easy setup.
Fuji will have a new version with electronic ignition out pretty soon, which you can pick up at around $450 easily (480 - $30 discount). Not a bad deal.

We have one flying at our field with the ZDZ 50 NG and GWS S11 servos. It flys VERY well and has unlimited verticle. The S11's are strong and cheap and have held up very well to some good abuse. The plane was originaly flown with a ZDZ 40 sportsman, bit was lacking on power when trying some of the more power hungy manuvers such as snaps on verticla up lines etc. Other than that it flew great.

I picked up the New Fuji 50 EI from my local hobby shop for $400. It has the new electronic ignition instead of the mag setup and it is lighter. I have enough planes that 3D great (double vision, capX,comp 2.3 ). I have the brison 3.2 and fox 3.2 but I'm going to try the fuji for the heck of it.
