Default 4*60 or Tiger 60 ?

I am looking to get my first low wing plane and these two have been reccomended to me.
Can anyone give me some info on what would be better or make another suggestion.
I have a 60 two stroke engine and need a plane.

I never had one but have heard nothing but good things on each. I may be wrong but I think the 4* is a taildragger. If so, Go with that one. Don't worry, Taildraggers are no more difficult to take off with than a trike. One other consideration is the GP SuperSportster. All three are good for a second plane low winger. You fly that for a few months and hop into a little P-51 or similar.

I can't give you a comparison side by side, but I have had a 4*60 with an OS91 surpass engine on it for over a year now and I really like it. Not sure if you are planning to build from kit or assemble the ARF, but there are several modifications that you will want to consider if you choose the 4*60. However, they are small mods and have not changed my opinion on the flying characteristics. It is a great plane.

I own a 4*60 and have flown the tiger and they are both excellent flyer's, well built ARF's and both are easy to assemble. The big difference is one is a Tail dragger ver's a Trike. I Personal like Tail dragger's and at our old (rough) field a dragger was easer to deal with.

Since both are so similar in flight and quality pick the one you visually like the best.

I built a 4*60 last year and still love flying it. I would highly recommend the plane. I did several mods to mine such as a counter-balance rudder, dual elevator servos, front hatch, 1" extra to the elevator and rudder, plus some other mods. I have a YS .91FZ spinning a APC 15x6 prop. I have my CG set a lot further than recommend, but mine will flat spin, hover and torque roll. These planes do very well with a little extra power on the front. My supercharged YS engine is the perfect balance for this plane IMHO. I have heard positive things about the tiger, but I can only rate the 4*60 which is great. BTW, the plane will float forever especially if you have flaps on. The 1" addition to the rudder and elevator allow me to do all sort of 3D stunts, but this is not a 3D plane but can do them with enough power.

**UPDATE**
I added some photos of my 4*60

If you need more I can get those to you.

I have both and just like the previous reply states that the 4* 60 is a tail dragger, but the Tiger 60 ARF comes tricycle or tail dragger, I enjoy flying both planes but I prefer the Tiger (just my opinion).

I think the 4* is a little slow on the control surfaces, but she looks good flying. The Tiger 60 ARF also comes with a 2 piece wing plus I also think she handles better in the air.

If you got your latest AMA mag Tower has it for 199.00 + a 15.00 gift cert!

anyways just my opinion

good luck on whatever you pick
