Default VENUS or SENSATION

The Sensation has been discontinued, so spare parts may become difficult to get down the line. I got one of the last ones from Tower when they went on sale. Haven't even put it together yet, but it's built to the Kyosho standards that I expected (I have a Mustang ARF from Kyosho as well), which means all wood construction, fiberclass cowl and pants, and very light. But unlike the sticky backed covered Mustang, the Sensation uses real iron on covering (although matching the checkerboard colors may be real tough). Hardware is crap and will be replaced, but I do that with most ARFs these days.

Both models are fixed gear, and both will need larger wheels to fly off grass (maybe no wheel pants). The Sensation is designed to work with the standard muffler, NOT a pits, just from lookin' at the cowl, a pitts would be a tough fit with LOTS of cutting involved.

Both should be great pattern fliers. Due to the Sensation's extremely tall fueslage, I'm guessing that it'll knife a bit better, otherwise the planes should fly very similarly. I was kinda surprised with the control surfaces (especially the elevators) size on my Sensation. I had thought that a F3A type would have larger surfaces, but the planes not built for 3D, so I'm sure it's enough for what it's designed to do.

Default Go for the Venus

The venus is the same as the Kyosho Majestic. I have a majestic and love it. With the Venus you have a slight advantage over the Majestic, and that is Monokote. The Sensation has a plastic covering that gets all loose after a few flights and the covering on the Majestic is not that good

Go for the Venus and install a YS .63 with a 14*5

The Venus is a great plane, and what a covering job. The landing gear is very weak, so being that you are using a grass runway I would purchase larger wheels and stiffer landing gear then you will be good to go!

The Venus is also very light!

Simply, Kyosho did not sell the Sensation in Japan.
Sensation is sold by Yoshioka. They also had larger 90 and 120 size Sensations. I am just not sure if Kyosho really produced both Sensation and Majestic. Kyosho already has more than enough number of pattern and 3D related ARF planes in Japan. It is either GP is just too selective or the Kyosho Japan does not want to sell all their arfs to US.

So you can still get one, but it'll cost $344 plus shipping... Good thing I bought one when Tower decided to clear them out.

Sensation was a prettner design wasn't it?

Anyone know if Hanno's been designing any more planes after the Sensation? Not found much after searching google and some modeling sites.

The Venus looks good too, but it's kinda pricey here in Norway. (Over $300!)

So Far, there is no other design by Hanno Prettner. The Sensation is about 6 ~ 7 years old design.
