Default lancair for second plane?

I think I have my mind made up on a rambler 45 as a second plane however a friend of mine recommended the lancair. What do you guys think of this plane for a second plane.

Best,
Rob

Even a minor crash will break the fuselage beyond repair. Also, the wing is 80" long. Can you get that big a wing into your car?

Are you ever going to buy a plane or are you just having fun with us?

LOL, Like I said I think the 45 is my choice but I am just checking all my options before I go out and buy it. And I thank everyone for their input.

Best,
Rob

Not speaking from personal flight, but have seen a few of the GP Lancair and these a pretty fast planes for a second plane, there very sharp looking and that said thats some of the reason they fly fast.Sleek fuse and thin wings. My second plane was the H-9 Ultra Stick,I would recommend hands down, what a blast to fly.

Rob, you have about 450 options to choose from. If you try to collect opinions on all of them you'll drive yourself and everyone else crazy. The Rambler 45 is an excellent choice. Go for it.

i have a lancair 120mph at 3/4 power with a saito 90 way too fast and you have to be careful on landing a very nice flying bird if you know what to do!!! not a second plane though

The Lancair will make a great second plane ... if you are willing to loose money crashing it. To be honest I do have a friend who flew it as a second plane, his first was a Kyosho F16! He is a gifted flyer who flew helis on his own w/o any trainer. He took the Lancair out and after 2-3 flights he went back to a RCM trainer. Go for the Rambler first, much more forgiving.

How do you know? Hahahaaaaa ... I find that the Rambler comes in really great with the APC 12.25x3.75, the prop wash will make your plane come in harrier like. trust me it was not my flying skill but the combination of prop and plane.
