Hello All,
I bought this ARF and started the assembly and the instructions call for 5 servos.
This is my second plane and my trainer only has 4 servos, But I cant' see how you can get by with just 5, looks to me you need 6?
I have two in the wings for the ailerons, one for throttle, two for elevator, one for rudder. This would = 6 servos
Is there some other wat to set this plane up for only 5.
Again I'm new to the sport plane world. So, sorry if this is a dumb question...........
Intiall thoughts are the ARF kit looks pretty good quality, Hope she flys good!
Thanks,
Michael

I think this is a .60 size plane. If so.....standard servos all around except for rudder. Use a HS 77BB on a pull pull. This is a profile servo...so is light and won't add much weight. If I'm not mistaken....the elevators work on one servo with push rod and yoke.
Hmmmm....that would make it 5 servos. Adding two servos for elevator will add weight to the tail. YOu may have a CG problem with this size plane and have to add too much nose weight.
Hope this helps.

Another option is to U- pin the elevators together for one elevator. However, I have the Edge 540 by Seagull, basically the same model, I used digital servos on mine, I would suggest a high torque on the rudder, or two lesser servo's for a pull pull setup, throttle can be any type, I mounted a micro servo by the firewall for throttle, offset the weight for the servo's in the rear. I have had a heck of a time with cg on my plane, hope your 300 is easier, good luck and good flying!

The instructions are misleading for this plane....it does require 2 elevator servos (totalling 6 servos), even though the manual states a total of 5 servos. I'm sure there is a way that you can set up a split pushrod configuration, but I used 6 servos in mine, and it balanced out perfectly by moving the battery a bit.
Michael, be careful if this is only your second plane....it's very responsive and a bit of a handful and will tip stall if flown too slow. I would recommend an intermediate plane like a Tiger 2 or Four Star first......if you're hell bent on flying this bird, make sure you have an instructor on a buddy box for at least 3 or 4 flights and test stall speeds, etc. up high with the instructor.

I have the 540 Edge and it called for 5 servos,that was a misprint,it needed 6 all together.
Elevator=2(servos screwed to side of fuselage) Rudder=1(servo inside plane) Aileron=2, Throttle=1 Total=6

Set your expo at least at 30-40% on elevator and ailerons....also, the correct cg is 4" at the fuse on the extra and edge from Seagull...both fly much tamer with that cg...Bill

The manual was strange when it came to the elevator servos, but I just went with two 425 BB on the elevators. Set them up on a Y-harness to channel two and they work great. It never hurts to take some stress of the servos by placing one on each elevator half.
