Default Little Toni firewall

Any of you guys figure out how to correct that weak firewall. Someone else says that fiberglassing the inside covering the wood seems to do the trick. Now how about all that dihedral in the wing, is it really needed? Response please. MM.

I have "Gorilla Glued" the firewall, filling the front corner cavities flush with the back of the wooden firewall backplate. I am waiting for a break in the weather to maiden it, so it is unproven.

My kit came with an improved non-A-frame spinner that is nonetheless still out of balance - a bit of a problem at 15,000 rpm. Did any of you guys settle on a well balanced alternative like, say, the P51 3" from Tru Turn?

Yes, that was the alternative spinner. Word has it that the landing gear mount should also be re-inforced. A few "un-soft' landings and it too will start to crack. Very thin in that area. MM.

I just got a new fuse from gp.I plan on trying some to pore some fiberglass resin and hardner
to fill the area around the firewall then pulling some up on the sides.I plan on doing the same
for the landing gear pad. Hope it works .

The alternitive spinner is the Tru Turn TT-3102-B-120. I have one on my Toni and it runs very smooth and looks better than the one with the kit. The spinner problem is a joke !! I talked with GP about the problem and was told that they were unaware of a vibration issue. After much conversation and denial they agreed to send me a replacement. Same problem. To bad they screwed up such a great looking model.

I have had no problems so far with either the firewall or the landig gear mount, I have about 25+ flights, and no problems. I fly mine with a Saito 100, and pulls it very well. Now that I see some of you are having trouble with this, I think I'll go through mine. Sounds like the Shoestring, and it's weak landing gear mount, had the plane for about two years, and on landing one day the landing gear section just gave away and pulled the landing gear back thru the stringers, pretty much gutted it. Any way, about how many flights on the Little Toni before you guys had problems?

I only had 6 flights on mine I did not see a problem with the gear yet my fire wall gave away
first. I have a OS 91 on mine. Two more members from my club also had firewall problems
all 3 of us only had around six flights or so. Every one had soft landings none of us have had
a hard landing yet. I am going to give one more shot before I turn my plane into a paperweight.

I have poured some 30 min. epoxy around the fire wall. I have 3 flights on it now it did not
efect the cg at all. I did the same around the landing pad I did not have a problem in the
other fuse. I took the cowl back off and inspected it closly I am still a little scared when I fire
it up it. Only time will will tell if it's fixed.

My Gorilla Glue is holding up OK so far - about half a dozen flights. I've got a Jett .90L on mine.
