Hi,
I have just ordered one of these ARF's and am waiting for it now. I would just like to ask if anyone here who has it could point out some tips to me when I start building it. Were there any problems? How did it fly? etc...

It is a great little airplane. I have had two. I wore one out and the other is now flying.
The second one flies a little better because I made it lighter. I saved weight by using HS-81 servos on all of the control surfaces and a JR 241 on the throttle. It also has a 270 mAh pack on board. The plane flies great with a BB 25, but is much funner with a bushing 40. The first plane flew for about 5 years and survived a mid-air. It chopped a sig wonder into about 5 pieces. The plane is very well built.
Just watch out. It is more difficult to fly than most planes that show up at the flying field. Just be careful with it and you won't have any problems. If you can learn to fly this plane well, you will have no problems flying anything else that comes your way. It was the second plane that my little brother ever flew and he was able to handle it just fine. I think it makes a good second or third plane. If you crank up the control throws it turns into an amazing little plane that will tumble, point roll, knife edge spin, and many other things. The funnest thing to do with it is low inverted passes with negative snap rolls, but don't try it for a while.
Watch the landing gear. It is slightly bent forward. It is hard to see it, but if it is installed backwards, the wheels are pretty close to the CG and it makes the plane hard to handle on the ground. Don't ask me how I know.
The other mod's I did.
-Both had a hayes 6 ounce fuel tank installed.
-I threw away the plastic spinner and put a spinner nut on it DUB730, it's not scale, but doesn't look bad.
-I reinforced the cowl mounting blocks. They will crack sooner or later if you follow the instruction manual. I drilled and tapped them and used 4-40 nylon screws. The wood screws just didn't work and the nylon screws and tapped blocks have held up well with no problems.
-I used 10-32 nylon bolts to hold the wing on.
A 25 size motor will fly it fine. I used them in combat and ended up putting a .40 FP on one and a TT 42 GP on the other to pull the streamer.
They also provided a different tail wheel mount for the latter plane I bought and it does not work. I got around it by cutting the bottom of the fuselage perpendicular to the rudder hinge line and gluing on a piece of pylwood to mount the tail wheel assembly to.

They said the plane was on backorder and they will ship it to me when they get it in. I'm really excited about my first warbird and want to really do some cool mods on it!
