I'm contemplating purchasing one of these aircraft nd was hoping to get some insightful input.
I've read only one review on it
http://www.modelairplanenews.com/reviews/p-51d1.asp
Beyond that, I haven't talked to anyone who has one.
Also, what sort of gear do you recommend?

This is a great looking and flying machine! I also had the VooDoo and it went together the best. Pay close attention to the elevator throws. Too much and the EZ mustangs snap. But all flight characteristics are good. Land on the mains just a hair fast. It comes with retracts if thats the gear you are talking about. If its servos then I would go with mid range 50-60 oz servos.

Warning on these: If you damage the coating you can't replace it. It's really hard to explain but it's a thin piece of foam with a monokote type film over the top. I wrecked my Voodoo and the damage was only minor the problem came because none of it could be rebuilt due to the type construction. For the money I would consider something else.
OH, whoops I see this is a resurrected old post. Well good info anyway.
