Default Hangar 9 Arrow capability?

I'm a beginner thats looking to step up to a capable 4-channel plane thats inexpensive and doesn't require much assembly. Right now I'm flying the 3-channel Aerobird Challenger. I'm looking for something that will fly slow, and still have the ability to do inverted flight, axial rolls, etc. I really like the sound of the Funtana S .40, but I've never assembled a plane before, and the cost is a little high for me since I don't have a 4-channel radio. I'm thinking about stepping up to the Hangar 9 Arrow since it comes with everything. Has anybody had personal experience with this plane? I'd prefer to go electric, but I can't seem to find an inexpensive 4-channel RTF electric plane. What are typical flight times for the Arrow and is it slow enough to fly in a football field size area? Thanks for any tips or suggestions.

it was actually my first plane and I loved it.. very easy to fly, super slow on the landings and when you go from the three to a two bladed prop, it's an altogether different beast.. the field you describe should be fine if you don't have too many surrounding high trees.. my only recommendation, despite the instructions, epoxy the wings together.. mine folded in flight and I lost the plane forever..

Great plane, capable of anything you'd want to try,

oh one more thing.. it comes with a radio and engine, if you want a better radio, let me know, I have a JR computer radio for cheap.. you'd need a flight pack but will have more potential when you advance beyond the arrow,

I bought my Arrow as an ARF and put in an OS .46 with 11x6 prop. Flies nice. So nice that I shut down the throttle way too
early on final approach and it crashed into a corn field. A re-glue of the firewall and re-bend of the right side landing gear and it should
be okay. I do have a nice dent where the rubber bands go on the wing which I have to re-do back together.

We bought one for dad to learn on. Nice flying plane. Easy to fix. I added flaperons to it to make landings even slower. I think you will like it.

Default Good choices...

Either the Arrow or the Hobbico Avistar would be suitable for your needs. Good luck!

BTW, got my Arrow back together. Was worried about engine. But it fired up with no problem. The wings on the Arrow after the crash have now more dihedral. This is because the big tube for a spar was bent. I bent it back as best I could. So, there is a little more dihedral than stock. Haven't tried it yet due to wind gusts today up to 25 mph.
