Electronic Speed Control. You really need to get in contact with a club in your area if at all possible. It's starting to sound as though you need someone to help you out from square one with all the different components and exactly what they do.

Do you know of any good web sites that go over the components?

Honestly bro, you need to be SHOWN what this hobby has to offer through a club or hobby shop employee before you waste ALOT of your money and time. This "sport" isnt for the unknowledgeable, someone CAN get hurt.[8D]

Thanks for your concern, but I prefer to do things myself. I will learn this stuff on my own I guess since I am not getting any help here. Just people telling me to join a club, blah blah. Whatever dudes, happy flying to ya all.

Why the bitter attitude? I think you have gotten some very good advice here, considering the nature of your questions and comments. We are telling you the best advice for someone just starting out that doesn't know a servo from a an ESC. There's no crime in not knowing, but you're gonna need some hands on help to learn this stuff unless you want to spend a boat load of money and crash a lot planes and take 4 times longer to learn things by trial and error. "I can learn this myself" is a very stubborn attitude and not a good one for this hobby. Trust us, if you really want to learn about this sport and enjoy it, get into a club in your area. You might even make a few new friends in the process.
