Recently acquired a Pica Waco 1/6 scale Bipe - a very cool plane - no doubt a bit over my head - but always looking for a new challenge. I'd like to know if a .61FX OS is enuf snort for this pup?

Nope, your more in the range of a .90 glow.
The .75 or .90 2 stroke would be much more fun than your 61.
I've got a Sig Skybolt with 54" span and a 91- 4c. The plane will
do more than fly level or dive to be able to complete an inside
loop. The 61. will get it off the ground, but I think you would get
bored real quick. I believe the projected finished weight would be
about 7 lbs. You would have to build really lite to stay under 9 lbs. since my Skybolt took 1 1/2 pounds of lead on the firewall to
get the cg. The .61 could use at least 2 lbs. of lead for cg.
