After flying my Pizzaz for about 1 1/2 years. I was putting fuel in it the other day and noticed that the alum. motor mount was cracked on the left side. I'm running an OS .70 fourstroke, just thought I would put this thread out here for you guys, may be a good idea to check your motor mount.

P.S.
Is this plane a blast to fly or is it just me?

I too had the same thing happen (I've got a Saito .72 on mine. In stead of just replacing the cracked piece I went ahead and put a DuBro soft mount on mine. It added some weight to the nose but I was able to copensate by moving my battery pack to the back of the compartment above the wing....I still have a perfectly tail heavy plane that flys just as crazy.... and so much smoother...I was pretty skepticaal of the stock mounting system when I first assembled my Pizazz.

I originally had an Irvine 53 on mine. I hated the vibrating sound. I believe it is some type of reasonating . I broke several hinges, so I decided to pull the motor and install my YS 63. While doing this, I found that the left aluminum strip was broken in two right under the mounting lug.

I picked up a strip of 1/8" x 3/4" x36" aluminum at the local hardware store for 2 bucks. I cut new pieces and mounted these with 6-32 bolts and washers, and threw away the little metric bolts that came with the plane. The new mounts are holding up fine after a gallon of fuel through the YS.

And WOW! The YS brings this plane to life!!! I've been running an APC 13x6. It's so quiet in the air! I have an APC 14x4W mounted on it now, but the stinking rain won't quit so I can try it out.

My CG is somewhere between 4.5" and 4.75" back. The butt drags a little as the tank drains, but I have a landing mode I switch in to help out with that when I need to get it down. I have a 700 mA battery mounted above the trailing edge of the wing, and 3/4ths of an ounce of lead bolted to the bottom of the rudder. I bought an aluminum gear meant for a SIG LT25, and added some light DuBro 2.75 wheels. This gives me almost and inch more ground clearance than the stock set-up and sheds almost 2 ounces. All-up weght is 5 pounds, 6 ounces. I removed the spinner to help shed weight and move the CG back.
