RE: ARF for OS 300 5 cylander Radial
OK the whole story. We have a friend that owns the land we fly on.
Great field, about 60 acres, 3 grass runways, one close small pond, and three ponds big enough for seaplanes.
The best field I have ever flown at.
We pay nothing to fly there, he mows the grass, gives away props...ect all day. In short, one of the greatist guys you could ask for as a friend. He also will NOT take any kind of payment for all of this, and gets mad if you try to pay him anything.
So the only way to "Pay" him we all chip in to buy him a Christmas gift every year. This year it was the 5 cylinder radial.
The only problem is.....He has two Stearmans already. One the GP plane with a G-26, and another bigger one with a G-38 on it.
So, he has enough Stearmans.
You are right, it should be on a Stearman, but we might just "steal" the G-38 one and put it on there.
But I am looking for other options.
BTW if you guys are in the area, you are free to stop by and fly.
Also...If you know this guy...don't tell him. He is not very computer savy, so I doubt he will find this on his own.

RE: ARF for OS 300 5 cylander Radial
The OS 300 is about a G-45 in gas. Any radial engine ARF in the 25-30 pound range could be a candidate. GSP makes a 91" Zero. They list a larger motor but Zero's need weight in the front. Might be a large Sukoi out there also. I would love to build a Jungmeister and put one of those in it. I am on the list for one of those Stearmans but I think for me at sea level a Saito 180 will give scale performance.

GSP Corsair
PacificAero GeeBee 'Y' Sportster
Cancel the 'Y'; thought it was 30cc not 50 and you're right, it is heavy at over 5 lbs.
