I recently saw an ARF Cesna 182 Cardinal kit on ebay that I bid $71.00 The buy it now price was $140. plus 28 for shipping. It was made in China and did not expect much. Advertised as 61" foam wing, sheeted and fiberglass fuselage. What the heck, can't loose for that price and I was thinking about retrofitting the wing with a built up one to make it lighter.
It arrived in a week. I was pleasantly surprised to find a perfectly smooth balsa ribbed wing with smooth as glass covering and I could have not asked for a better kit. I think the company put it on the market to test the response as I dont see it now on ebay.
I also bought a Lanier Mariner 40 ARF from Tower Hobbies and found that this kit is also made in China. The Cesna is a lot better finished model than the Mariner. I intend to put Falcon floats on the Cesna and fly it as a float plane. I can't remeber the name of co. but if they advertise it again, check it out.
Will let you know how it flies, but first I want to finish the Mariner, and still waiting for the floats.
Bottom line, a very nice ARF

Correction to the Cessna 182 post. It is a Skylane and is sold by modelproduction. Just checked and there are several on e- bay. It states that it is electric, but the plans included are for glow engine.
