Think I finally settled down to get a tiger 2 for 2nd plane. How hard is the arf build I'm all thumbs and a complete novice on building.

I am working on one now. Its going together easier than a lot of others that I have built and the quality is very good. The fuel tank is only around 8 oz. Its fine for a 40 engine but you may want to change to a 10 oz. tank if you are looking to install a 46 engine on the nose. Any questions, feel free to email me.

the tiger 2 is a pretty easy build.. Instructions are great. The model will build nose heavy so think ahead when mounting your engine / electronics. I have nearly 100 flights on my tiger and its a great flyer and quite forgiving.

Was thinking of putting an os 46 ax in it should give it plenty of power

Knight, look at my avatar, its my Tiger 2. If you build it with the trike gear, the mains are centered on the CG. You will have to bend the
mains back toward the tail so the plane will rest on all three wheels. I also have an OS .46 AX on mine. Its plenty of power. I also mounted my engine closer toward the front of the mount. I'm using a 4 cell 1600 mah nimh battery for rx power and its up against
the fuel tank. This tells you the plane builds a tad tail heavy and not nose heavy. Depends on what engine you put in. The new .46 OS AX's are pretty light weight.

yeah im sorry about that.. i just noticed i made a slight typo.. I meant to say that the plane builds tail heavy. What was I thinking?
I built mine as a tail dragger and I was very happy that i did. Saved a few ounces of weight too. Any weight savings on this heavy plane is a plus.
The OS .46AX is a great match for the plane. Put a 11x6 prop on it and the plane really scoots along. If you want just a little bit more vertical and a slower flying plane opt for a 12x4 APC.

If you are looking for any Knife edge performancethen you need to build the rudder out about 1.5- 2 inches. Other than that and the tail heavy prob <My 60 size was a pound off!> It's a great flyer! Enjoy!
