Default Ultra Stick vs. Super Stick

I have an Evolution .46 I am looking to put on a stick and can't decide between the US or SS. Is the quad flap set up worth the effort and expense on the US? If it is I might go with the US and do that set up. I am not wanting to 3D just sport flying.
Thanks.

I recently did an Ultra Stik with the quad flaps, and was somewhat underwhelmed with the added capability. Yeah, I know some folks do amazing things with quad flaps. All of that is a bit beyond my skills and desires. If I was to assemble another, it would be with normal ailerons.

Having said that, you still want to pay extra for the Ultra Stik. The Super Stik is pretty sad, IMO. Had one of those too, that was given to me. The covering is CRAP and the hardware is miserable, among other things. The Ultra Stik is a much better quality model, in all respects.

Im on my second ultra stick now and i love them. Make sure to get the red white and blue one , its much easier to see in the air. I set them up with quad flaps . its nice to have them on windy days to smooth out landings. and one you get better they do let you do some neat things. I would build them in and just not use them until your ready. its just two more servos

For the quad flaps to work do you have to have a computer type transmitter?

If you are serious about flying it hard, reinforce the tail..... this is what happened to mine when I did a
"wall".[]

I took your advice and bought the Ultrastick. Nice plane and it flies good. The "crow" flaps are cool for landing and the flaps get it in the air quickly.

CeeGee to utilize all the functions you will need a 7 channel Tx. I don't think they make a non-computer Tx that is more than 4 channels.

Computer radios pretty much start above 4 channels.
Hitec optic 6, Eclipse 7, all the big Futaba systems like 9C and such,
Polk Tracker-2.
The optic 6 is pretty sweet for about 170 dollars

WCB, I just got a Futaba 6exa. It should work since I don't plan to set up the Stick with quad flaps.

CeeGee a standard 4 ch. Tx will work fine if you plan to use the ailerons.
