Hey Crownvic,
I have a thread somewhere in this section on the Skyshark Eagle, there a quite a few of us that have them already. The kit is AWESOME ! , the company owners, Mike and Angie Grey are AWESOME !
The kit is so new, the only known units flying are Mikes prototypes, but a there are a few kits being built by reviewers, and this should produce some GREAT feedback results. Some of the guys that have kits are waiting for the review results, others (as in my case) are tied up with other projects at this time, and have the Eagle slotted in a build queue.
I'm tentatively scheduled to start on mine in the first quarter 05, and look forward to it. Mine will be powered by a Saito 180, undecided on smoke or not, but probably not.... Give the Greys a call, you'll like them, everyone does
and you'll LOVE the kit

Sky and they are manufactured in Thailand, just next to me!!! I am hoping to pop by Thailand to see the plane.
I love the wing loading, seen the GP one and I am most disappointed.

I too was struck with the low wing loading but if you read the thread on here they misjudged the finished weight by 3 - 4 lbs. turned me off.

I am interested in this plane too. I just did some reading and I have a question for those guys that are building this beauty. If the 4 servo system is used, is there a way to get the wires from the top wing into the fuse with out being seen? Just curious of what you guys are doing.
I have a Saito 180 sitting on my bench. I am torn between a Yak 54, Sukhoi, and this beauty. This has always been a favorite of mine, and this ARF looks excellent. Thanks for any reply.

I have one of these sitting in my shop just waiting to be built. Trying to clear out other projects so I can give her my full attention. hope by mid Dec. I have to say it is the best looking and best built ARF I have ever seen. I have a satio 180 w/slimline pitts smoke muffler ready to go in. To your question, I am looking into how to get the top aileron wire down with out being seen,as it looks you would have to add a tube with a wire in it or box in a wire, wont know until I start putting her together. I would like to hide the wire. Ever thing else is so clean, I am putting the remote glow and the fueler in between the fuse and cowl where it bulges out at the top. No hole needed in the cowl except exhaust out the bottom

I maidened mine yesterday. It weighed in at 15#. The Saito 150 does a very good job of pulling it around the sky. There were a few building issues, and correction to be made. I don't want to say much now as the review is still being written.

Gonna have some video? I hope....

FlyinBlind,
It's hard to say right now when it will be done. although the maiden was done, I had to make a few changes, so now it's ready for the next flight, but I'm a slave to the weather. Once I've got it the way I want it, I plan on adding a smoker before shooting the video. Then of course, I have to wait for weather again. And once the review is written, it can take anywhere from a few hours to a few months before it gets published. so it's impossible to say when it will go live.
As for videos - you bet your sweet butt there will be videos, and with a smoker on board, they should be good ones!
Ricmussman,
Sorry this hasn't been answered sooner, your question sort of fell through the cracks. I have the two top servo wires joined where they leave the wing, and a single wire running straight down from the top wing to the Fuse. It comes down through th Cabane, so it's noticeable, but not sticking out like a sore thumb. If you wanted to, you could have it follow one of the Cabane struts down to the fuse. It would be less noticable that way, but you'd still see it.

Mike What size fuel tank are you using. Did you use the engine mount that came in the kit. I was thinking about using a G.P adjustable. This is my first plane to put smoke on. So far I have a slimeline smoke pump and muffler ready, any suggestions, what about tank size. Also did you put your servo in the tail. Just trying to get all my thoughts together before I get started. Thanks for any info. Ron
