Hi,

anyone have tried to install the CJ retracts set designed fro TF-p47 into an ARF Model tech p47?
the wingspan is about the same; TF declares that his model is 1/7.7 scale, the model tech one is 1/7.

i'd like ad this nice feature on this model plus all 3 tank on wings and fuse.

I'm waiting some suggestion

Hi to all,

I started to build and add some detail to my
modeltech P47. I ordered CJ main retract and robart tail. but my question is about CJ's one.

After reworked the wheel bay and fitted the first leg, found a problem: the legs cannot fit inside the wing. the "problem" is that the legs are too scale, and the offset of the wheel cause the problem. see the phots to understand better.

Anyone can suggest me a way to fix this problem?

Alessandro, I had the same problem using Robart struts. The curved part of the strut hung low outside the wing. Unfortunately, I think the only recourse is to turn the struts upside down and mount them the "incorrect" way.

hi im going to do a little modification on my P47 and i have a question where did you get those wheel cups and what size robostruts
that set up looks really nice

In case you ever in a pinch for wheel wells here is an idea that I tried and its works very well . Go to your favorite Home store , ex-Home Depo , Lowes ect . Go to the Rain gutter section , take your wheels with you and fine some plastic rain gutters that have the same circumferance (or slightly larger ) for $5.00 one piece will make about 6 wheel wells, you could get more but the folds are non useuable . IN my kits planes I find this material to be very strong and you can attach wing ribs to it. Simply add a balsa, ply or plastic base depending on your needs . I have also used PVC pipe based on how much strenghth I have needed in the area , especially where i am cutting ribs in an ARF
