I also got a mini funtana week ago but on a maiden flight yesterday my gear box broke and stripped my main gear [:@] never even got to fly it. Luckly my local HS has replacement box for $9 so I'll be replacing asap. Becareful when installing your motor. gearbox seems to me very fragile where the motor mount is.... may be I just over tightend it...[X(]

I got a Mini-Funtana as well. My wife let me have it a couple of days early and it is ready to fly except for a SC. A VERY nice plane. My only gripe is my hatch is not a perfect fit. There is a little gap between the canopy and fuse in the rear, but not bad. I am very pleased overall. The new E-Flite 20A brushless SC's will be at my shop Monday and then I wil be ready to go. I have the TP 1900 3 cell pack.
My father also scratch built me a Ryans Rebel scaled down 10% for a G23. It was a birthday/Christmas present as my birthday was the 15th. Nice to have a father who is a good builder and has the time since he is now retired. He told me he had to give me a plane before I got over the hill as I turned 29 this year.[:@] At least I'm not 30 yet
Merry Christmas to all,
Norman Ross Jr.

Doug,
If you are interested in setup there are about a dozen construstion and modification threads between RCU 3D Electric forum and RC groups 3D electric forum.
To answer you I used HS 55 Hitecs all over except the ruder and I used a micro GWS. I really like the GWS also is is only $10 verses the $17.99 for the Hitec. The Hites has a beffier arm and has more torque. 11oz. VS. 18 oz. I figure if I lost the rudder it is not big deal to land it without it. On my foamies from now on like my E-Flite Ultimate I will use GWS solely. Seem to be ever bit as good and the price can't be beat. I have two JR mocro servos from a airpac I bought once and they are the best I haev seen, but they are also $25 a piece.

I really made out this year. I got a Hanger 9 Ultra Stick Lite 120 and a new Zenoah G-26. My wife also got me a 10 inch Ryobi drill press because she thought that I could use it when building planes. At least that is what she told me. I think that she is a keeper. Happy holidays to everyone.

Futurase: Check it out! Christmas Edge Still miss the Suki though. Should be able to test fly it by Tuesday. Maybe it will fly so good I'll forget about the Sukhoi.

Everybody got the mini-Funtana! And... so did I? I bought it myself, though... I've got a AP.15 to put on mine, instead of going electric. It only weighs 5.13 ounces. It would be ready by now, except for family being around, and I've got to engineer a 3 inch motor mount to get the prop washer out there to the end of the cowl and keep the thrust lines cool. Made a new firewall to cover the 'holy' one already there. It'll be ready really soon, but I've got to go back to the LHS for a short glow plug. I didn't have any at home...
