and I'm willing to bet you fly pattern, as in nothing but a sloppy circuit around the flying field... my point is what do your comments have to do with the topic besides a personal attack on prophanger? (who by the way is known and respected here...)
anyway, the h9 extra ez is a .40 size trainer.

10 ounces of weight in the nose is too much, something is wrong. 10% or so of your plane is dead weight!!

Yeah, I think you got a lemon. Although I haven't flown that particular plane, RTF or ARF models these days are a crap shoot. Even from the most reputable vendors, the occasional QC slip happens. My Thunder Tiger Lazy Tiger had raving reviews but mine was really off. My ailerons hinges were so far off that one side of the aileron is two mm below the wing and the other is 5mm above it. Still flies okay but dang there's a lot of flutter! My WM EP Clipped Wing Cub has a wing twisted like a politicians. But WM kits in general are great!!!
If you run out of down elevator trim, I'd check the incidence, not all these planes are made with great precision and I've had planes that the incidence is 10 degress off and completely threw (word used correctly here :-p) off the balance. Had trouble landing the plane because it never wanted to come down! Beecause with CG at 25% of the chord, you shouldn't be experiencing anything tail heavy at all!
It is rare to see 10 oz of lead in the nose for a small ARF... did you change the design at all? You know like mount the servos in the rear or mid mount the tank? Or go with a much smaller power plant?
It sounds like you are an experienced modeler so I'm sure this doesn't add too much value to you but, sometimes the most obvious things are likely to be the easiest to overlook.
And despite prophanger's grammatical error, his comment is not that bad.

well heck i don't feel loved but i got a question i have had 5 of the same planes 3 had mds 48's 2 had mds 40's no weight was added the battery on the 40 powered ones was under the tank the battery in the 48's was taped to the back of the tank 10 ounces of weight is to much on a 5 pound plane 80 ounces you had to add 10 ounces thats a major problem
btw yes i do fly 3d you know how listening to the peoples advice on here you may have a question only i can answer sometime not likely but you mite do you think i would answer it after you bashed me without me knowing what are you a self taught hot shot or what the way you asked the question sounded like the guy at the field flipping the trainer button trying to get his plane started after we got it started we had to tell him not everything MacGuyver does works in life sorry to have offended you i'll stay out of your threads so you can get the advice you want to here
i'll fix the spelling on my first post its the spell checks fault honest
