Default TWIST

Will the TT .42 be ok on the H9 TWIST?

Will it also allow the TWIST to hover and pull out from a hover?
Also, how does the TWIST balance using an engine such as this?
Don't have a radio that "mixes out" for KE. Will have to fly it manually nor have EXPO.

I had a Rossi 45 on my Twist, the Rossi is a heavy engine, and the plane balanced at 5" back from the leading edge. I think if you use the TT, you are going to have to add many ounces of weight up front to get an acceptable balance point.

Darn glowfuel... Did you get my Twist off of ebay:-(
From what I've been told the TT will not pull the twist out of a
hover.. They say a 46fx will barely pull it out.. And that you do
need mix for K.E... And what woody said is right on the CG. I
was looking at putting a 61 2c, or 70-82 4c If I ever find a twist
thats not taken before I can get to it:-)

didn't you just ask the same question on the thread Called DAZZLER ? You can ask the same questions there with out starting a new thread. Also if you do a search on the Twist ... ALL your questions will be answered....I hope this helps you find the info you want.....JW

You are correct , They are different planes...however the Dazzler thread was/is switching from conversation on the Dazzler to the Twist and vice versa. I have a Dazzler and a Twist ....IMO the Twist is a Far better plane. I tried to fly my twist with a 40FP, just for a fun-fly type plane (no 3d/hovering/etc.), Plane was waaaayyy underpowered and there wasn't enough lead in the world to make it balance out right. I tried to fly it anyways..but let me tell ya...trying to fly an underpowered twist with the CG moved back was dang near impossible for me. I could'nt wait to get it back on the ground..a MISERABLE flight..i was doing 3D but it was'nt on purpose!!!...it's on the shelf until I procure a .60 engine for it..

HAHHA I can imagine what you mean! Everyone always is shocked to see all the weight I have strapped to the front of my twist with an os 46fx - 5 ounces!

I had three ounces on the nose of my twist with the .46 AX on it, but that was just to move the CG back twoards the front of the range for it's first flights. I"ve since put a Saito .56 on it, and while not grossly overpowered, it will hover and has plenty of vertical. The weight fell off sometime after I put the Saito on, and it flies fine... CG is still in the range but towards the rear. I also have the battery pack (1100 mAh Nicad) stuck on top of teh fuel tank as far fwd. as I could get it. Don't know why you would need lead unless with very light engine.....

My 46FX is mounted as far out on the beams as possible and I have a 5cell rx pack as far forward on top of the tank as possible yet I still need 5 ounces strapped to the cowl cheek things opposite the muffler to get it to fly the way I like. It really flies like crap if I take the weight off. I've experiemented for months on this and this is what works for me...

It doesn't seem to have affected pull out from a hover TOO much but maybe I notice a little. Otherwise handling is the same, floats like it always did.

What prop are you running with your 46FX?
I've got mine mounted out as far on the beams as possible and running a 5 cell under the battery pushed to the front.
Mine balances at 4.3/4

Hey Chuck (I sound like Peppermint Patty!) I usually use an APC 12x4 as I liked it better when I first got the plane and compared hovering pullout between it an APC 12.25x3.75 and a few others. I recently broke my only 12x4 taxiing too fast with full up elevator into the wind! ya, pop up and stall onto prop. So now I'm using the old 12.25x3.75 and can't tell too much difference although it has been awhile.

Flew the Twist again for a few flights today. Got the feeling back for the Twist and got it torque rolling pretty good as it blew down the field. Had a little trouble with blenders until I started adding power a little earlier before I started moving ailerons from full left to the right. Don't remember having to do that before... maybe I've just been on the sim too much recently!

Oh and sliced my finger good flipping the prop to prime it... damn.. usually I use a chicken stick for that too but it was out of reach and...
