Default Muffler Outlet for GP Ryan

Hey Guys! Am putting the finishing touches on a GP Ryan STA-M and am having difficulty getting the muffler to match up with lower bulge in cowl so I don't have to cut holes for it. I have read other threads where builders of this plane were able to position the muffler so it exits the cowl at the large bulge. I am using an OS 120 and have purchased one of those "in cowl" adapters. It is a 90 degree header extension, but if I position it to allow the cowl to go on it is much too low and will deposit all the exhaust inside the cowl. I have cut away part of the wooden cowl ring that is glued inside the cowl but still don't have enough room.

Any suggestions?

Greg

Try contacting Alex Goddard [[email protected]]. He has some pictures of how you might do it. Also check out this website:http://www.geocities.com/jbrundt2/ST-M.html. Good luck.
