I am about to buy a kadet sr arf and need to know whats a good engine to use in it. I have a os .46 that I could put in it.
Will this be enough or do i need to go bigger.
My 1st Sr had a 4 stroke .70 in it which made it wayyyyy to powerful.

MY dad has a MDS 58(garbage)but the motor is not broken in yet. So it has some potential. you have to fly it about 3/4l throttle the entire flight. I hate MDS I told him not to by one but he did anyway.
I think a OS 46 would be great. It is designed to fly slow. I know guys that built the kit that flys theirs w/ a 40fp, and that was over powered. Depending on the weight, I think the 46 will be fine.

I put an OS40la in mine and it was a little underpowered. Then I stumbled on a Saito 50, put that in it and WOW, what a difference! Not really overpowered, but plenty to get you out of trouble. It's really fun to fly at any speed with this engine.
Your 46 should be great also.
Enjoy......

The .46 will fly it just fine, though I think these low and slow Kadets cry out for a 4stroke. Anything from .51 to .80 should be great for it.
