I have just purchased the 4 Star 60 ARF and am about to begin assembly. I was curious as to any "gottcha's" anyone else may have experienced with this kit. I plan to put an Enya 4 stroke 90 in the nose so I am concerned about balance. Any comments?
I have not closely inspected everything yet but this apprears to be an excellent kit. Covering job looks great from what I have seen.
Thanks

I got my 4 Star 60 ARF flying this weekend. This plane flies incredibly well. As far as balance I have a OS .91 FX and it balances perfectly with no additional weight.
I did replace the ny-rods for the elevator and rudder: 1 the ones that came with the kit would bind at the tail exit, 2 I was told by others that the ny-rod will expand and contract with temperature making constant trim adjustments necessary. So I kept the original guide tube and used solid 4-40 inner rod.
I also had to lower the holes in the fuselage for the wing mounting pegs for the wing to sit right.

Four Star 60 ARF - Fuel proofing needed??
The manual states that the engine compartment has been fuel proofed at the factory, but if you want extra insurance go ahead and fuel proof it again.
Just curious if anybody has gone with just the factory fuel proofing, and if so, if you've been okay with that.. ie, no problems encountered. I don't want to fuel proof again if I don't need to. Thanks for any input.

I just made the first flights on the .60 size ARF. Required a LOT of aileron trim. I got it on the ground and got to looking at it with a friend and the wings are warped at the tip..1 up, 1 down such that much trim was required. Gotta take the heat gun to it and straighten it out. Power will not be an issue with a Saito 4C....airborne at 1/2 throttle. With Saito required 9 oz of weight in the nose...total weight is a shade over 8 lbs.
