Default Control Throws for Decathlon ARF

I have the Seagull Decthlon ARF; the Control Throws stated in the manual seem a little a small ie: 3/8", etc; have not flown the plane yet wanted some feedback on what throws others have set up for this plane and the results, good or bad; Thanks a bunch.

Follow the recommended throws. Decathlons are not a beginners plane. Its looks are decieving and that symetrical wing requires you pay attention throughout the flight. It needs to takeoff fast , fly fast, land fast. [ voice of expierience ] You'll find out why. Seeya, MM

Listen to MormanMike... even with small throws the elevator and rudder are very effective, you probably will find 1/2 inch either way is to much throw for both elevator and rudder... the rudder is especially deceiving due to it small size when compared to today's 3D planes. For aileron you might crank it up a bit but the roll rate is not going to be 3D fast no matter how much throw you have. watch your snaps... with book throws they can be VERY fast and VIOLENT, this plane will snap kind slow for the first part of the snap and then turn into a blur

Good luck and keep some speed on this plane... don't try too 3 point it or float it in like a trainer on landing... it can be done but you'll be sorry you made a habit of it at some point

John
