Default smoke?

Hey guys how do you think a kange cap 232 with smoke would be the plane is powered by a ys 140dz engine. I also have a gp patty with bme 50 that already has a smoke muffler. I would like to put smoke in one of these planes just to use for show now and then. What do you think?

Thanks,
Rob

I have the same Cap that is getting a Roto35Vi and was pondering the same thing. I did go with smoke on my CG Sukhoi with a Zenoah G26 converted to Electronic Ignition and it works well. I have never done smoke on larger 4 strokes but I can say this on gas it's pretty good. The Zenoah uses an Abell muffler. I cannot find it at this point, but there is a diagram out there that uses the pressure system from the YS engines to pressurize the smoke tank and a Dubro servo operated smoke valve

Hey Minnflyer,

Great Smoke!!![sm=thumbup.gif]

Question? Are you using a preheater of any sort and where and how are you "spraying" the smoke oil. I am presently installing the new TME SmartSmoker pump system on a Magnum .91 FS pulling a Global Ultimate Bipe and was thinking of making a preheater" if necessary".

Some pics or just install tips would be great. Thanks.

Twindaddy, I don't preheat. I tapped the muffler header about 3/8" aft of the head.

This link shows a diagram of the system I use:
