Just found out about the new ARFs from AM, 1/4 scale D-7 and 1/4 scale ALBATROSS D-V. They are both a bit pricey but sound like they have great detail. You can pre-order covered (white) or uncovered. They are also selling some 1/4 scale lozenge fabric. I ordered the D-V, great presale price.

Cool stuff - I like this off-beat stuff - beats having yet another extra or cap at the field.

Where did you find the pre-sale price. I didn't see it on their web site? Which size did you order?

They have a dumb website with regards to navigation.

The arf link is in a little box under the picture of the Wright Flyer

http://www.arizonamodels.com/arf.htm

PS: Dig that huge Tiger Moth - it will hold two full body pilots...hmmmmm

You're right - I didn't read your post completely.

I have no idea where those arfs are on their website.

They haven't made it onto the website yet, just like Yellow hasn't added the P-40 to theirs' yet. Got to call for the pre-sale prices. By the way, they are Quarter-scale, 80" wingspan!! Sounds like a job for a Saito 180. Gutten Nacht!

Santa Wife ordered me a D VII for Christmas. Decided to get it uncovered since most have the lozenge scheme somewhere.

You have to call them to get the discounts as they are not listed on their website. It was advertised in Model Airplane News.

Unfortunately they don't update their web site often.

Man that is a frustrating site. Can't find the stuff advertised in the MAN. I think I have clicked on everything on there pages. The kits protion give no specs like wingspan, weight, engine size etc. I
Has anyone built either a kit or ARF of there's. I am really interested in there Albatross kit or maybe even there Fokker D7 ARF but this whole setup does not instill a lot of confidence in me.

Default arfs from AMC

Give them a call, they are very helpful. When I called here is some info I got. Fokker D-VII - they flew theirs with a US 41 and said it flies nice with that engine. Its wingspan is 88". The Albatros has not been flown by them so they had no info on engine use as of yet. It is also 80 + inches. These planes are being built overseas, and with the slow down in ship unloading on the west coast, they may get held up.

Again, call them. There is absolutely nothing about either of these planes on their website.

Spoke w/ Jamie at Arizona Models... the ARC / ARF's shipment is still on schedule for delivery being around the 1st of Dec. The D-VII is the Gary Allen design, 88" W/S 'one-piece wing' with added scale accessories for the plane. Approx. 25 of the 50 D-VII's are reserved / spoken for. Jamie stated that once the planes hit the port the 'pre-sale' will be over. The D-VII was featured in M.A.N. in 1998, up-coming M.A.N. articles are in progress.

I think 'pre-sale' price for the D-VII ARC is $650.00.

Default AMA IMS Show Visit

I spent a fair amount of time at the Arizona Models booth. Great looking exhibit and most of the models were there, 1/5 scale DRI, Apx $270, 1/4 scale DRI, DVII and DVIII. Very nice for about $650.00 for the arf. I took plenty of pics. WIll post this week.

Saw them at the Pasadena show. D-VII looks great. Albatross still a month or two away.
