H9 Aresti with YS63

Hi, anyone run this combination? If so with what results and would you recommend it? Also what prop size works best?
My Aresti currently runs an ASP61, its ok but it pretty much needs full throttle all the time.
One last question about the YS63, I've not used one of these engines before and I was surprised by the prop shaft diameter. What size is it? I assume you need to ream most props before they fit?
Thanks,
Andy

Your ASP 61 must be pretty weak. A pal had an Aresti with a TT .46, and it was a rocket.
A YS 63 is too much for this model, IMO, but I'm sure it will work just fine. You might have a problem with prop clearance; this engine ran best for myself and a few pals with a 13x6 prop, and the gear on the Aresti is kind of short. You can go with a shorter, high-pitch pattern prop; but man, that thing will be FAST. The YS 63 is a strong little engine.
IIRC, the crankshaft on the 63FZ is 7mm or 8mm in diameter. I don't have one anymore so I can't check it for you. But I'm pretty sure its metric.

Thank you, Thank you for this post.
I won a h9 Aresti at a club meeting, and thought it was a 40 size bird. I don"t have a 40 size engine so I put a st.60 in it. I'll fly it this summer. Please let me know where the CG is?

So the YS is overkill for the model, hmmm might have to re think this one. I want to stay 4s just cos I like them
The ASP 61 I have now is under the power of a decent 2s 46, more like a 40 2s I would say. Ideal for a scale style model rather then a sport model. It's fine for general flying but no real zap for good vertical performance.
My engine options on the bench right now are the YS63 and a Saito 82. I also have a Kyosho Cap with another ASP61 which I want to upgrade so the Saito was planned for that.
Just for giggles then, what other engine options would people suggest for the Aresti but staying on the 4s rather then 2?

I'd say the Saito 82 would be a great choice. The engine was designed for a 72, but the 82 is the same size and weight, with 20% more power. Can't go wrong!

Guys ... some people who owned the YS63 says its about the same as their Saito 82, the Aresti will not be very over powered with a Saito 82 at all. Mine was with a Saito 72 and an APC 12x8, its nice, good but no unlimited verticals.
With the Saito 72 the plane was nose heavy using the stock engine mount. I had to add 2 oz to the tail to get it balanced right. CG was sorted out by inverted flight.

I was thinking that the YS63 was about the same as the Saito 82 in power terms, is this right? OK it might be a bit over the top for the Atesti but throttle management is skill I can learn
All the other 4 bangers I could think of carry such a weight penalty with them and this model is very front heavy anyway. I already have 30g on the back to sort the CofG out and that's with the ASP61 in there.
Any other engine sugestions? What power plants have other people run in this model?
I was planning on binning the standard engine mount anyway to help with the weight problem and compensate for putting in a slightly heavier engine.
