Hi Guys:
Just did some wheelin & dealin and ended up with a GP PT-19 ARF. I plan on dolling it up just a bit mainly with more scale size wheels (I know I'll have to make new gear struts) and different markings etc. My question of all you is this, I have a OS91FS, OS 108 FSR and a McCllough 28cc that I can use on it. I just want a good flying sport scale like plane. Your thoughts?

The PT-19 appears to be a very versatile plane. I fly with a group that powers theirs with Zenoah G-26 gas motors, and they all fly very very well. Your 28 CC motor may be just the thing if you want real horsepower in it...and relatively inexpensive fuel too. The OS91 seems to be way too small to get any good flying out of this plane, and the 108 is only just a little better than the 91. Good luck with yours.

I have a GP Ryan at 11 pounds with a Laser 120, APC 15x6 at 8.8k which is a bit more powerful than my OS 91 4s with APC 14x8 at 8.4k. The PT-19 is very similiar but lighter and would fly fine using the OS 91 4s. Flying the Ryan I can do big loops, 75 foot vertical wing overs and large cuban eights with the Laser. Note that you have a long nose moment on the PT-19 and a heavy motor will need lead in the tail. A Saito 100 would be the lightest of the motors I would use if I had one. My OS 108, APC 16x6 at 9k is considerably more powerful than either of the 4 stokes mentioned. I use 5% fuel in everything. I just hate seeing an engine poking through the cowl anywhere.
It should be a very nice plane.

Mine flies great with an OS .91 4-stroke inverted with a Slimeline pitts. There has been a lot of disscussion on this plane and what engine to use on this site. Most people (including mag. reveiws) are using a .91 4-stroke. It flys the plane pefectly well. Scale like. The full size plane was not a barn burner with an oversized engine. I had to add 1/2 oz. to tail to balance which means I really would of had to add a lot of weight to get a gasser to balance. The plane is very light for its size. Whatever you choose...you'll love the plane. I also put Robart scale wheels and tires on it. I've seen the full scale plane with either spoked wheels or the smooth Piper Cub like hub. Very nice looking.
