Hi Guys,
I have read plenty off good and bad reports about a lot of ARF's and having had quite a few different brands while learning they are certainly a mixed bag.
But I have to praise Pheonix models, I have had their Canary as my first high wing trainer and it really stood up to the rough learning process, wore 2 other brands out in the meantime. Then bought their Dolphin low wing and am still flying it. I can't believe a model can be this robust. It has had it's wings smashed, Fuze broken in half, several new landing gear wires and many other learning injuries.
Even managed to do a TREE POINT landing today when I ran out of fuel on take off (was enjoying myself so much I forgot about the fuel). A few quick repairs and we were in the air again. The poor pilot is hooked on pain killers now.
My mate and I also have their new Diablo .60 size, what a well built and a fantastic flying plane especially for the price.
Well done Pheonix.

You will LOVE the Funstar!
I have a Magnum .46 in mine and it's unlimited vertical...way more than enough power!
Just do not get this airplane too fast..it will rip the control surfaces off..not because it's a cheaply made airplane but because of the LARGE control surfaces.
I hope you have as much fun with you're as I do!

I have a Pheonix Tucano46, have been scratch building for 25years plus and this was my first ARF. I must take my hat of the Pheonix as the quility for such a cheap kit is very good. The only mods I did was to lower the fuel tank position as the OS 46FX would flood, I used pull, pull on the rudder and made my own elevator push rod as theirs did not look strong enough, oh and I put a fibre glass band around the centre section as I got this model as a fun "put all the sticks into the corners" type of model. It flys great, it's best manoevre is an absolutly FLAT inverted spin. My control throws are at the max for this, start with full down/right rudder and left aileron, leave the power on and open your moth wide. Matthew.

I bought the Extra from scratch and dent. LOVE THE PLANE!!! 90 bucks, and it's a real beater. I dont care if it crashes and burns, which adds to the enjoyment.
Also the easiest and fastest ARF I ever built. Got it Wednesday. Flew it Saturday.

I had the Irvine Wild Card here in the UK (it's exactly the same plane), and it flew really well. Unfortunately, I kept getting disorientated with the transparent covering so I sold it b4 I wrote it off
Was one of the best flying funflys I've seen at our club.
