Default Harmon Rocket America

It appears I'm the only RC'er here willing to buy a Seagull Harmon Rocket. Horizon and Quantum are not interested in distributing them here so that leaves them to stay in the UK. As soon as I ''back-engineer'' the frame and enlarge it to a .60 or 1.20 size from my Rocket, we'll see if any of you guys become interested in plans. About $189.00 US bucks plus $61 for shipping to US. Top-of-the-line quality .40 size ARF, nice personal modifications to incorporate for your own tastes. If I don't here from anybody on this, I'll figure this was about as exciting as the Corby Starlet and just clam up for a while. Seeya, MM

Yup, www.galaxymodels.co.uk I think the ''sticker shock'' is whats holding people back. It will take a while to get a disk for photo post but will do ASAP. MM

I'm not sure on the exchange rate but it seems that $200.00 for a .40 ARF is a bit high. It looks neat but it doesn't seem like it's anything that special.

RC-Sport, Your probably right. It's just that I'm a Rocket man and have always been partial to this particular plane. Yes, the price was too high and the shipping was a little hard to swallow, But it was something I really wanted. The little" pip-squeek" moves pretty fast too! Thanks for your reply, Seeya, MM

I live in the UK and i my good lady has just bought this for me for chrimbo but she has wrapped it and im not allowed it untill xmas day aaaaaaaaagh!!! It cost her £90 which i think is about $130-$135. I have heard here that it is an excellent ARF but i wont be able to elaborate on that untill i unwrap it, but lucky only a few days to go! It may be worth your while goin to www.sussex-model-centre.co.uk and have a look at prices and shipping costs there if you are interested. Good luck!

Mark

Windsurf1, Don't get "Father Christmas" irritated. Be patient. It's a great plane to fly. MM

These are available in the USA. My LHS has them in stock, very nice looking plane, and priced right. Friend of mine did an electric conversion and it flew very nice.

FINALLY!!!!!! Father Christams bought me what i wanted and i finished building it yesterday (29 dec 2005) and flew it today! I actually put the third servo - the rudder servo - on the rear like the insrtuctions say, and it only took a small amount of lead behind the firewall to componsate, although i was worried that it might be to heavy for the .46 i decided to use. As it happens, it was balanced perfect and it does fly very scale like although roll rate is not so good even though ailerons are at full possible throw, but i think i can live with that. Take offs are quite stretched but i like that and it just floats in like a dream on landings. All in all it is a lovely looking model and a pleasure to fly and i would reccomend to anyone who enjoys sedate scale flying! I LOVE IT!
