IMHO the CA hinges are fine with this plane. However,
as always with CA hinges (click on the preceding underlined
'CA' and you will display a link to an RCU tutorial), you need to make sure that
the CA can wick into the hinge slot adequately. Drill holes
(1/16") from the bottom of the stab and the elevator, two per
hinge for each surface up and through the hinge- no further- and use it to
wick additional CA up into the hinge. Do this after you have
fastened the hinges in place by wicking CA into the hinge
slot at the hinge line.
If you don't like
the idea of the holes in the bottom of the surfaces, then
drill three holes in the hinge slot in each surface - positioned
so that they locate at either side of the hinge and in the middle.
Most guys only drill the middle hole. These holes can be
small, eg, 3/32" and use these to get a lot
of CA into the hinge slot. Helps to use one of those tip extenders
with the long thin tube on the CA bottle.....
Good Luck
