Default SIG Something Extra or H9 Twist ?

Can we compare the flight characteristics of those planes ? I don't care for difference in price at this moment.

In a nutshell...

Both fly very well and land slower than any trainer.

Twist...

An all out 3D machine built for learning 3D flying and nice and precise but not as precise as the SSE

SSE...

All out precision flying machine. Does 3D but not to the level the Twist will do.

I had both at the same time. I used an OS46AX turning an APC 12.25X3.75 on both. The SSE has a roll rate that will literally blow your mind on high rates. At half throttle level across the field with the OS/APC combo the roll rate was better that 2 rolls per second. After the third roll it became impossible to count and you had better be high enough because trying to determine where the roll will stop is hard. On low rates its roll rate is very slow and easy to count.

The Twist has a thicker airfoil so it does slow flight very well and does not roll as fast. The Twist can even fly backwards in a headwind but the SSE just dropped.

There are huge threads for both planes here on RCU...

bubbagates said what I would.... and said it much better!! I also had OS .46 FX engines in my SSE and my Twist. IMHO a great plane-engine combination
