Default GP Gene Soucy Extra wing panel measurements

Could someone do me a favor and measure one of their wing panels on the Great Planes Gene Soucy Extra

I am going to order a set of wing bags online and need the following...

length
wing root
wing tip

I am not getting home to measure my plane for a few days so any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Planeclothes,

I appreciate the measurements but the 74 inch is total wingspan, not just one panel. Can I get ypu to get the single panel size

Thanks again

Hlaf of that or 37 inches. The wing is 2 pieces but has to be assembled into a one piece and put on just like a one piece when you fly.

Total pain in the butto to turn over a 13 pound 74" wingspan plane to put the wing on and off. It's not like most planes that size or bigger that slide on a tube and bolt to the side of the plane. It has 2 pieces, that slide onto a tube and then bolts onto the bottom of the plane like 1 big wing (which then it is) and a belly pan covers the connection.

Doh...I didn't think of halving the measurement <red-faced and embarassed> [:@].

My bad and I do sincerely apologize to everyone, especially "Planeclothes" since he took the time to do the measurements for me.

I agree with having to put the wing together then turn the plane over and bolt it to the plane. I thought cutting the belly pan in half, cutting holes into it for the wing bolts and gluing it to the wing halves but it's not all that bad so I'll wait on doing that until one day I get rained on trying to get the plane apart. Gotta admit that it does fly fairly well.

Umm unless I totally misunderstood you - you would still have to put the wing on as a one piece. There's just no getting around it - wing halves slide onto a tube to create what looks like a big 74" one piece wing - then it's bolted on. Having the bellypan split and glued to each wing half wouldn't help at all that I can see. I guess you could put on one half of the wing then slide the other half onto the tube - but it's pretty hard to do with the plane upright - but I have done it with the plane tilted onto the spinner on a table - works ok if you don't have the wheelpants on.

I love the plane to death, but in all honesty it's gonna be the last plane I ever buy this size with that arrangement. I have a 1.20 size wildhare edge coming in the morning with the "normal" setup and I hope it works out much better.

Actually I think we are saying the same ting, just differently. I do put the wing together then bolt it to the plane. Although, I usually tend to drop the bolt that is in the belly pan and for some reason that bolt and I do not get along well . I was just making a statement about gluing the belly pan permanently to the wing halves so that it would be one less step.

I hear ya about the Wildhare. I have the Ultimate on order. Saw it in Toledo....[sm=thumbup.gif]

Get some of the rare eartch magnets, put 2-3 on the hatch and 2-3 on the fuse and it' won't come off and just snaps in place. I epoxied mine in and it works great - only bolts to keep track of are the wing bolts and I just leave them in the fuse.

I always keep the wing in one piece and use a PVC stand to put it on. It's also possible to stand the plane on its nose, hold the fusalage with your legs (you have to be sitting) and then put the one piece wing on. I've done this many times. Believe me, after having to deal with a GSP Katana for a long time, where I had to turn the plane over, squeeze my hands inside the fuselage to attach 2 wingnuts, 2 bolts, and 2 springs, and then close the hatch with 6 screws, turning my Gene Soucy over is just a piece of cake.
