Default I Love this plane - H9 P-51

This plane flys like a dream and is so forgiving. I was very nervous after hearing so many comments that it would be hard to fly, however it is so completely opposite. Looks wonderful in flight and on the ground.

Hey Jonesy, what modifactions did you make to the plane ?
I was thinking of getting this one or the World Models .60 spitfire. I like the idea of flaps.

thanks

No Modifications, The landing gear are stock also. I saw someone put flaps on this plane and it looks great, doesn't look like to much work, but that would be a winter project for me. For landing this plane, flaps aren't a necesity but of course it would make it look cool[8D]

I did install a Keolo Creations exhaust. Most people can't get over the exhaust, I can't either, I just love it.

Jonsey,

I agree they fly great - in some ways more like a sport plane than a warbird. My only problem initially was with landing. I kept trying to flare and land 3-point like I do with most of my other tail draggers. Once I switched to landing on the mains, everything is great on the Mustang

I modified my scheme like Richard L. due to too many "Marie's" at my field.

Greg

Thanx for the great vids!! Makes it much easier to understand how it flys by watching it rather than reading about it! I have a few warbirds and I think the trick about making them fly nice is the setup. If the everything is lined up nice, cg adjusted properly, no slop in the control rods, and trimmed out nice then the planes fly well. My first flights on a couple of my warbirds were a real handful for the first couple of minutes until I got them trimmed out. After that, they were solid flyers and fun to fly.[8D]

Hehe, it's not a good idea trying to do a 3-point landing with a warbird. Warbirds should always be landed on the mains. By the way, the color scheme I did is an authentic Tuskegee Airmen color scheme:

My mule is also the .60 size version with a YS 110FZ under the hood, just like the rest of my .60 size warbirds.

"Kick Dupa", (name changed) my "Marie" replacement: 12 x 8 MA 3-blade on a side-mounted GMS .76 with a SonicTronics 310 plug and a Bisson Muff running on Wildcat 7%. Also Robart 3/16 retracts canted forward 5/8", 3 1/2" Robart wheels and CBA/Tatone spinner blank. A bit of up elevator is mixed to the down retract switch for better low-speed and landing control. Tho I'm not fond of H9 products, in all fairness this is a superb flying machine in all respects, except in the hands of a beginner.
