Hello All,
I've noticed that some ARFs use some kind (cardboard...) wingtube sleeve in the wings and some simply slide into the wing without the sleeve, i.e. into holes in the ribs that are reinforced by plywood. What's everyone's thoughts on this? I've flown a few different planes with cardboard sleeves, but never without. Just curious as to people's experiences with this kind of setup.
Thanks,
JimmyP

Jim I only have a few with plug in wings. All of them have a fiberglass sleeve in the wing. I don't know if it's any stronger than the other type but it's bound to be easier to slide the wings on. I can image the wing being to high or low and the wing joiner catching and cracking a rib.
